Just received my Germination Station. I would like to know what you think of me placing the heated mat inside the tray and soil on top of it. Since I placed it under the tray for 4 hrs. and the heating was so negligible that I don’t see it being worth it to do it this way.
Thanks for your note…a very good question!
The real benefit of bottom heat is to keep the temperature
swings in check and provide an even, relatively warm
temperature for germination.
So bottom heat is not so much for *increasing* temp, though
it will do this also, but for *maintaining* an even, warm
temp to maximize germination.
So…I would leave the heating mat underneath the tray as it was
Please keep me informed of your progress…I am also
interested in growing a large number of sprouts…the food
value is awesome!
