Apparently, our recent robin sightings are not rare. According to robin expert Len Eiserer, over the last decade, some of the robin population have become homebodies, sticking out the winter in their summer habitat. Good news for us – anything to make the winter landscape more cheerful!
We finally got the snow that the weatherman had promised…six inches, but very warm weather (40’s-50’s) is predicted for this week. I haven’t even bothered to clear the driveway, trusting that it will melt soon. There are really only three seasons here in north Idaho – snow, mud and dust. This year, though, we’ve had a long additional season of almost spring-like weather to replace much of the snow season. Actually quite boring!
