During a visit to my dentist in March I noticed a mature but fairly small crabapple tree laying over horizontally on the ground. Excess moisture from the roof valley apparently loosened the tree’s grip in the soil. Roots seemed to be intact, so I suggested to my dentist the possibility of raising the tree and anchoring it to the building. I could not guarantee a future long life for the tree, but felt it was certainly worth a try. Following basic arboriculture practice for tree cabling, I raised the tree close to its original vertical position and anchored it to the building framing. I instructed office employees to talk to the tree and send it good vibes!
