Isabel Finally Wakes Up

Now I can believe in Spring. Even Isabel, the large Koi, has emerged from the fish cave to browse on the algae.
The pond has remained fairly clear and clean throughout winter. We will simply draw down the water a bit, clean the little amount of algae and debris with the muck vac, hose off the filter media, add dechlorinator and fill. Also will use a product called Stress Coat to ensure fish health. All in all, it really pays to keep the pond clean throughout the year…less stress on the fish and the fish keeper.
