Mother Nature has been flirting with Jack Frost the last couple mornings…the thermometer read 30 deg at 5:30 this AM, but no frost was visible, nor any plants affected.
I think I’ve finally caught all the gophers that were active in the garden. I used to feel quite bad when I killed one of these critters – and I guess I still do – but having to make the choice between the gophers’ existence and the existence of our food is not too difficult. [...]
