The image below is an island bed created by the circular driveway. Though just a small portion of the total landscape, the owners wanted it to have an Oriental feel and be the main focal point of the front yard.

A dry creek bed/pond is surrounded by slightly mounded planting beds which are accented with large and medium size boulders. An arched bridge spans one end of the pond, and two benches allow the owners and visitors to appreciate the beauty of both the immediate and distant environments.

This was one of my most "interactive" design projects...extensive email messaging and revisions eventually produced a design that was true to the owners' inner vision of their landscape. I've come to believe that "the only dumb question is the one that is not asked".

" I bombarded you with tons of ideas and wants and needs. Then I added an 'ask-one-million-questions' game. Somehow you were able to sift through it all to the essence of what I wanted. Your designs feel truly natural. They are what I wanted. They also accommodate my need for simplicity and harmony. My garden will be an awesome sight. "
