Lawn areas have been tractor graded and now must be raked with the wide grading rakes - this is perhaps the most labor intensive phase of the job, but extremely important in establishing a smooth grade. One final check is made of the irrigation system to make sure coverage is adequate. The dry spot up near the blue spruce required us to move a sprinkler head...better now than after the lawn is seeded.

Choosing between sod and seed can be confusing, with pros and cons on both sides. My belief is that seed will eventually produce a better lawn, but...

OH NO!! A major thunderstorm has washed out much of the seed! The landscaper and the owner both have nervous breakdowns and are sent to the funny farm.

After much overseeding and tender loving care, the lawn filled in well the following season.
