Thermo-Pond Pond Heater/Deicer

Keeping a hole in the ice allows potentially harmful gases to escape from the pond water. The gas is caused by decomposing leaves, dead algae, fish waste, etc. and will become lethal to fish if levels become too high. Maintaining a small opening vents the gas.
